Healing from trauma through self-compassion, safe and attuned witnessing, and empowerment
My Approach
My approach to trauma work is grounded in compassion and safety. I help you identify and name the parts of yourself that developed to keep you safe and ultimately helped you to survive. Through this process, I support you in updating those survival responses so you can begin to truly believe, in your mind, spirit and body, that you survived the past, and are no longer in danger.
Building safety within your internal system and in the therapeutic relationship is central. I practice consent-informed therapy: we intentionally listen to the protective parts of you that signal when things are moving too fast or feel unsafe. These parts, which may show up as dissociation, emotional walls, or heightened anxiety, are not obstacles to therapy. Instead, we view them as signals and guides. Working with them patiently, with trust and mutual consent, is the core of the healing process.
